About Clinical Practice Redesign™ (CPR™) and TransformMyPractice.ca

The Saskatchewan CPR™ initiative was developed in partnership with the Saskatchewan Medical Association, Saskatchewan Ministry of Health, and the Saskatchewan Health Quality Council (HQC) as part of the Saskatchewan Surgical Initiative. The CPR™ initiative supports clinicians to reduce wait times, improve the patients experience and improve the provider and staffs experience in healthcare.

CPR™ is something you do, not something you have done. Because it is not a step-by-step process, you will never be "done" clinical practice redesign. The methods of CPR™ will become part of your day-to-day work. Once you have made some improvements, you may not think of it as clinical practice redesign anymore, because it will become "the way we do things around here."

CPR™ is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Practices have different challenges and goals that need to be addressed. There are many methods in the clinical practice redesign 'toolbox' that a practice can use to reach its goals. A CPR™ coach can help identify which of these will be useful and relevant to the practice and which ones are not.

The primary purpose of CPR™ is to engage clinicians in just-in-time learning to achieve measureable improvements to access and efficiency. Measurement is an important part of your improvement efforts. All clinics participating in Saskatchewan's CPR™ initiative are requested to track and submit data to help measure and inform not only your practice's improvements, but the improvements of other practices throughout Saskatchewan.

transformmypractice.ca has been designed primarily for practices participating in Saskatchewan's CPR™ initiative and is meant to help make measurement an easier part of your practice's individual improvement work. The minimum requirements for accessing this site is a computer that has access to an internet connection with a web browser of IE8 or higher, Mozilla Firefox 3.6 or higher, or Google Chrome 5.0 or higher. Your local CPR™ coach can offer you technical support and assistance in setting up your user account, and to provide more information and support about participating in CPR™.
